The Variooo Yang family home came into being as one of two faces of a sophisticated residential concept on the edge of Líbeznice, just outside Prague. Set within a tranquil landscape, the house represents the symbolic Yang counterpart to its gentler Yin counterpart — more open, lighter, and more active in its energy, yet losing nothing of its elegance or inner coherence.
The brief was to create a timeless family home for a family of four that would feel impressive yet entirely natural and unpretentious. The interior was to offer an abundance of light, a functional setting for everyday life, and an atmosphere in which contemporary minimalist design would blend with a sense of safety, stability, and understated luxury.
The entire concept was therefore built on the principle of contrast between the active daytime areas and the restful zones of the upper floor. The ground floor opens the space towards the garden and the surrounding landscape, becoming the natural heart of gathering, living, and shared moments. The upper floor, by contrast, offers greater intimacy, quiet, and the possibility of slowing down.
The treatment of light and material plays a significant role throughout. The interior is defined by light oak flooring with a gently smoked undertone, running continuously across the whole house and creating a feeling of natural continuity. The kitchen, clad in straight-grained oak veneer, is paired with grey marble with fine white veining, whilst dark lacquered, routed wall and ceiling surfaces lend the space depth, rhythm, and visual calm.
This contrast between light and dark materials became one of the central motifs of the entire design. Delicate brass details woven between the ribbed elements introduce subtle reflections and a sense of refinement without ever feeling overt. The whole is completed by large-format ceramic panels in a marble effect, quality textiles, timeless statement pieces, and carefully selected lighting by the Czech manufacturer Brokis, which brings both softness and an intimate atmosphere to the interior.
The Variooo Yang house is built on the idea of "quiet luxury" — luxury that is not loud, but can be sensed in proportion, detail, light, and the overall harmony of the space. In dialogue with the garden, a water feature, and expansive glazing, a place has been created that offers not only an aesthetic experience, but above all a quality setting for everyday life.
The project is now complete and fully inhabited. Although the client wishes to remain anonymous, we are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us throughout the entire process. The result is a home that feels calm, quietly confident, and timeless — much like its owners.
